A. The Quran claims to be a Book from God that agrees with the prior Book from God. The prior Book from God is the Bible:
If thou wert in doubt as to what We have revealed unto thee, then ask those who have been reading the Book from before thee Surah 10:94
He has sent down upon you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming what was before it. And He revealed the Torah and the Gospel. Surah 3:3
B. The Quran says that Jesus Christ is not God:
They have certainly disbelieved who say that Allah is Christ, the son of Mary Surah 5:17
C. The Bible says that Jesus Christ is God:
looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ Titus 2:13
Therefore, the Quran says it agrees with the Bible, but does not agree with the Bible. It thus is internally inconsistent, and must be rejected.
There is no inconsistency, as "Jesus is God" is definitely not the same thing as "God is Jesus". Almost all Christians believe that Jesus is God, but none believe that God is Jesus.
ReplyDeleteStill, it is very unclear who are "those who say that Allah is Christ" mentioned in the Quran.
